WHO WE ARE: We are a Pittsburgh-based, family owned and run start-up bakery business. Dana (pronounced ‘Daana’) is the baker of all sorts of yummies and Joel is her perfect partner (and husband) who helps wherever he needs to, his favourite job being that of the taste-tester. We have been married for 13 years and lived in Pittsburgh for 6.
WHAT WE DO: Everything we bake is made ‘Mama’s style’, in small batches, from scratch, with good quality ingredients, some brought directly from Europe. We offer different things from cupcakes, muffins and granola to eclairs, our best-selling tiramisu and flourless chocolate cake, as well as other gluten-free, grain-free and vegan goodies, upon request. We DO NOT take shortcuts with low-grade or artificial ingredients, e.g. any food colouring we might use is vegetable and fruit derived.
WHERE WE ARE: In the absence of a physical permanent location (which is our ultimate goal), we are present every week at these markets this summer through fall:
Wilkinsburg Open Market on Thursdays from 3-6pm (in parking lot of Lifecare Hospital at 225 Penn Avenue and S. Trenton)
Bloomfield Saturday Market from 9am-1pm (5050 Liberty Ave)
Market Square Saturday Night Market from 5-10pm (Downtown, 210 Forbes Ave).
HOW TO GET IN TOUCH: We take orders and can be contacted online through the Contact page, or by phone/text at 570-490-1620. We are also on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/CafeDaana/. Orders can be picked up by agreement at the weekly markets we attend or delivered within a 30 minutes’ drive radius of Pittsburgh. We also offer catering services (dessert and finger-food) for parties of up to 25-30 people.
