Birthday Baking Fun

I have been baking for some time now, and unfortunately haven’t always remembered to take pictures of all of it, but here are some fun birthday cake memories:

I made these for my little boy’s jungle-themed 1st birthday party. Marble cake with vanilla icing, vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing (tiger and lion), and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream icing (monkeys). Although we stayed up late into the night, it was a lot of fun decorating these, and even more fun eating them!

This 3rd birthday was all about construction vehicles: three layer marble cake with chocolate buttercream icing, chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream icing, crushed Oreo biscuits and candy rocks on top.

4-year old Rohan was absolutely obsessed with Legos, hence the Lego brick cake: single layer vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream frosting, the bricks I made out of chocolate melts.

These two cute cakes were super fun to make! I loved playing with the colours! Three layers of vegan chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing.

And now, on to grown-up cakes. I made this by myself for myself: vanilla bean cake with whipped cream: absolutely delicious!

And this very understated cake is perfect for chocolate lovers: rich flourless mocha cake with a little whipped cream and hazelnut chocolate shavings on top. It was a hit with everyone.
